Toronto! Edmonton! Crawling! New Tooth!
Ok so a lot has happened in the past month. Unfortunately this blogger thing hasn't really been working that well for us in the past while. We still need to figure out what's wrong. It won't let us upload photos properly - but in the meantime, some updates before I forget!
We went out to Toronto for a visit. Jenn is back at work part time, and had some meetings to attend. So Edie and I decided to tag along and go for some visits. Edie did really well on her first flight. Let me tell you changing a baby in those tiny washrooms is a challenge though!!
We spent a lot of time in downtown Toronto while we were there. While Jenn was in meetings there was some opportunity for some walks around downtown. Edie and I headed out to the market, historic downtown, city hall. In between our walks there was nap time and fort time (with the blankets).
Edie got to meet her Aunt Tracy and Uncle Peter for the first time. They came over for a visit and dinner - there are some cute pictures but they'll have to wait.
Later, we met up with some of the eastern Devines at Aunt Agnes' for a visit before we had to head back to Calgary. All in all it was a good trip. Travelling with a baby is definitely different, but it's still fun. As an added bonus, people sure are a lot friendlier when Edie is around!
The next weekend we hit the road again, this time heading up to Edmonton. We finally got around to cleaning out my Dad's house, which was a large job. Afterwards we all celebrated Thanksgiving. The family is getting pretty large with the new family members - when we took the family photo everyone barely fit in.
Oh! As we were getting ready to go up to Edmonton, Edie took her first crawls. She started seriously rocking and crawling backwards a bit about a week or two earlier, but finally figured it out about five minutes before we hit the road. We had to postpone leaving a bit so she could explore the living room and her new found ability.
Now, a couple of weeks later, she is booting around so fast we have to keep on our toes at all times. She's started crawling up to things and pulling herself up too - it's not going to be too long before she's standing. Just when we thought we'd almost baby-proofed the house for crawling now we have to do it all again for standing - she also wants to crawl up the stairs now.
After we got back from Edmonton, Edie and I caught some nasty colds. Edie's was accompanied with a fever, and we had to keep our eye on it for a while. Having a cold with a baby is no fun either - no more lying on the couch all day watching movies!
Today we discovered her first tooth on the bottom right. She hardly fussed at all, it just showed up this morning. Perhaps her cold / fever made her tougher - she wasn't going to make a fuss about a little tooth!
So much change in so little time - it's amazing how fast she is growing and changing. It seems like every day there is something new that she discovers or learns.

This is Awesome!
Edie's first flight (well, first flight after birth!) went really well. She had lots to look at, and had fun looking at all the other passengers. Pre-Edie I always dreaded sitting next to a crying baby, but now I couldn't imagine who wouldn't want to sit next to her!
At the end of the flight she had an extra special treat, and got to go up and visit with the pilots.
Sorry for the lack of updates! This blogger thing keeps screwing up, and we've all come down with a bit of a cold, so we haven't been doing too much computing lately.
