Getting better!

Edie is a roll-over machine.

Yesterday she figured out how to roll from her back to front, and once she figured it out, she did it all day long! With BEDTIME ENCROACHING, she continued to roll, struggling through weariness to keep rolling...

Check out the video - we caught her rolling over halfway through. It's a large file, but her smile at the end is worth it!!!

Click here to view the movie (approx. 8 MB, which is still pretty big - but at least it's not 20MB!)

Why is this video so big you ask? Well I can't seem to remember how to compress it without losing a lot of quality - and I don't like the idea of Edie getting all compressed! So you may need to wait a while to view it, sorry...

To Radium & Back

Last week Jenn had a few meetings to go to in Radium, so we all packed up and headed out for a few days of relaxation in the Rockies. It was quite nice - we had a really good view of the mountains from our balcony.

Edie saw mountains for the first time, but she seemed more interested in the trees. Edie and I got to go for a few walks during the day, while her Mom was in a couple of meetings. Afterwards there was plenty of time to just hang out as a family.

We went for a drive and stopped at a waterfall. Edie was enthralled by the noise and motion of the water.

Edie's started giggling - during bath time, change time - and in her sleep!

She's also started teething, which is rather uncomfortable for her. We're sure she's far away from cutting her first tooth, but her gums are still sore and sensitive. It can make her pretty grumpy. Combine that with her dislike of her Dad's whiskers and you can get a pretty sour face!! Luckily it doesn't last long.

Radium was a lot different than we were expecting. We thought it'd be rather touristy, but in fact it is just another small town along the highway. We went out for dinner in a small diner, where Edie liked pretending to drink her mom's Cokeā„¢. Her uncle Michael must be shaking his head in disgust.

Rolling Thunder - She's a BIG Talker!

It's the start of the lawn bowling season. This is Edie's first venture into organized sports! With it being our 3rd season we will be able to quickly show her the ropes!

We had our first game last night and Edie attended the event. She was all eyes the entire time, watching all the people and new faces. We're not sure if she'll be able to make it every week, it depends on the mosquitoes and weather, but she did enjoy herself so we know she will at least be out to a few more this summer.

Edie experienced her first big thunder and lightening storm on Tuesday night. She didn't mind it at all. The dogs were a different story, whining and barking. Since then it's been gray and rainy so not much time for walks, but we have had plenty of play time and roll-overs, which we did manage to catch on video this time! You can check it out by clicking here.. Warning! It's like 7 MB - it'll take a while!

Here is a pic of Nana's visit this weekend, as well as a couple of Edie telling her elaborate stories to us all. Check out how much new hair is coming in - and it's still red! :o)

Booster Shots and Smiles

Edie had her 2 month booster shots last week. It was a tough go but we all survived ~ Mommy and Daddy included!

Despite feeling a bit fussy after her shots, Edie's been pretty much all smiles. Especially when her Daddy took care of her for an afternoon while Mommy went for lunch with a friend on Thursday.

This weekend was filled with garden centres and flower pots. Edie helped pick out some new planters and bedding plants and then came outside and supervised the planting efforts on Saturday.

Come Sunday we were a bit tired out from yardwork so took it easy with a nice visit with Auntie Heather, Uncle Dick and cousin Nate who stopped in on their way home from Banff. Edie was especially tired so wasn't the most refined hostess, but she did enjoy seeing them and was sad they couldn't stay longer.

She'll have more practice for her hostess skills because she is expecting more guests this week too! She'll give a big slurpy baby kiss to her Uncle Chris when he comes on Wednesday and then she's been saving up a bunch of snuggles for when her Nana comes to see her on Friday!
