Parties, Uncle Mike, Baba, and a Bottle

It was another big weekend for Edie!

Baba and Uncle Michael came down for a visit. It was really enjoyable - and relaxing too. We did a lot of lounging around, something not too unusual for Edie - and her parents as well, for that matter. Saturday night Edie went out to party with her great aunt Natalie, on her 50th. Sunday, Edie just spent more time lounging around with her family.

Baba and Edie, having a snooze.

Edie's first try at feeding from a bottle - a success!!

...of course, her papa had to give it a try.

Edie bustin' it up in her new toy. She's a bit too small for it, but she'll grow into it soon enough.

Edie's learning how to grab and hold on to things - she loves putting things in her mouth, too - whether it's a toy, her hand, or her shirt collar.

Uncle Mike holding Edie - he found a new way to rock her, and make her laugh.

Mother's Day Photos!

Well!! We never actually got to post any photos of Mom and Edie on Mother's Day!!! So - here are a few, a little bit late, but still precious!!!! Look at the two pretty girls!!!!! And the pretty faces!!!!!!!!

Once you become a dad, you get to use lots of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!

Do it for Edie: Medicine Hat and back

We're nailing down how to travel with Edie, with her second road trip. This time with dogs! And it took us only 4.5 hours to get to Medicine Hat, and maybe 4 1/4 on the way back. Maybe something happens when you become a Dad, and 'making good time' becomes something significant.

The time spent in the Hat was really relaxing - a lot of visiting and sleeping in - AND it was a long weekend to boot. Edie and her Gigi didn't find it difficult at all to have a mid morning or afternoon nap. Edie also found the time to watch a couple of Oiler's games... she can't believe their winning streak!!!

Mom also spent some time apart from Edie - their first time apart EVER!!!!! Mom and Nana went to the greenhouse to get some plants, Edie had a snooze, while Dad stayed home hoping nothing would go wrong! Edie eventually woke and started to wonder where Mom was - luckily she was just pulling up outside the house.

Besides that, Edie just tried to chill out as best as possible in the sweltering heat - it was well in the 30s last week and over the weekend.

Oh! and, Edie went to the doctor's today for her 2 month checkup, (she's nine weeks old, to the day!) today. She continues to grow: now in the 50th percentile for weight (4.86 kg, 55 cm long!)

AND!

Her hair is now coming in really rapidly. It seems like only 2 days and her head is covered in hair - probably the next photos shown here you'll be able to notice the difference!

From Tummy To Back

Edie rolled over from her tummy to her back today! We captured it in a picture but didn't have time to switch the camera to video to record it in motion. The look of surprise on her face was priceless but it seems the effort was very tiring and she has only made it to her side since (which of course we did capture on video...)

It's been blasted hot up here the past couple of days and Edie enjoyed just hanging out in her shorts. Too hot for anything more!

We're off the the Hat for the long weekend to visit with Nana and Gigi and friends. Our first trip with Edie AND the pooches in the car. We are anxious to see how it goes. Watch for the report early next week!

A busy couple of weeks

Edie is all tired out from all the excitement over the past couple of weeks!

She had a wonderful shower last Saturday at Shauna's where she met more friends and relatives and received so many beautiful baby gifts. We can't give enough thanks for how generous all of our family and friends have been!

She got some rest after her shower in preperation for this weekend. Starting Friday she first attended a BBQ and then to a get together for Carl who was back in town from swinging SF. On Saturday she had an afternoon of shopping and a nice visit with Reese. Then of course today was Mother's day brunch and Baba's afternoon tea. Such a busy girl!

Edmonton Adventure

We were up in Edmonton last weekend for a visit with Baba and all Edie's aunts, uncles and cousins! The trip went really well, having taken our time both ways - 5 hours there and 5 hours back(lots of stops for eating and relaxing) - it was laid back and non-stressful. Edie had lots of fun visiting with Hudson and Nathan, her little cousins and even got to celebrate Hudson's 3rd birthday with him!

On Sunday we had a baby shower at Auntie Erin's and met lots relatives and friends. It was a wonderful afternoon with many generous gifts from everyone - Edie's wardrobe is bursting at the seams, she is going to be a very stylish girl! :0)
