What's New!

It's been almost a month since the last post, time has been flying by.

Edie's been a busy little girl this past month. Gone are the times when we can put her down and not pay attention to what she's up to for the next 20 seconds.

She's been crawling full speed for quite a while now, and started to climb stairs a few weeks ago. She is also very interested in anything electrical - power cords, outlets. One day she decided, while crawling past an outlet, that it'd be fun to stick her tongue in it! Luckily I was there to stop her, and the outlet had a child proof cover - but still. Another time she grabbed the computer cable, pulled it out of the computer and immediately stuck it in her mouth, then let out a cry. I took the cable and stuck it in my mouth to see what would happen, and got a zap like sticking your tongue on a 9V battery. Regardless, she didn't learn her lesson and 5 minutes later was back trying to get the cable again!!

She's also walking quite well, for about 3 or 4 weeks. Well, by walking I mean she'll lean on a box or toy and use that as a prop, pushing it across the floor. She is almost running now while pushing a box. She's started 'cruising' too, hanging off the edge of the ottoman or couch and walking around it. Jenn saw her stand for a few seconds the other day without help, but I have yet to see that.

One benefit of her non stop activity is that we've been forced to be more diligent cleaning, anything left lying out Edie wants to grab and put in her mouth! Silly girl.

So we've been pretty busy watching out for Edie. We've also been taking her to swim lessons - next week is the last week, i can't believe it's gone so fast. It's definitely fun though, we're going to continue taking her.

Last week Jenn and I caught a 24 hour bug that totally incapacitated us. We were both lying on the couch unable to move unless we needed to go throw up or something. It came on so quick it caught us off guard, we needed to leave Edie in her playpen for a good portion of the day. And Edie was such a good baby, it's like she understood how crappy we felt. She just played with her toys quietly and didn't fuss at all. Such a wonderful little girl! Of course the next day while we were up and about but still tired as hell she wanted to make up for lost time and was moving about in high gear.

We've been getting ready for Christmas, we put up some lights and wreaths - Edie loves both. The lights I think are pretty easy to understand why. She really likes looking at trees, and I think maybe the wreaths seem like we've brought a bit of tree indoors. For the first few days, every time we'd bring her into the same room as the wreath, she'd squeal with delight. It was pretty funny.

Anyway, we're going to get some pictures posted up pretty soon, as soon as we have a bit of spare time!!!
