Edie Votes
Today we got the girls packed up and headed out to vote. We asked Edie if she wanted to go vote and she got all excited. Jenn and I decided to just go in one at a time, with the girls in the car.
The whole time, Edie kept saying, "Edie vote!". When we got home, "no home!! Edie vote!". Well being close to bedtime the only place we could think of to take her is 7-11...
So now Edie thinks voting is going to the store to pick out a 5¢ candy!

Two Quick Weeks
The past two weeks seems to have gone by really quickly. The first week was hard - not a lot of sleep, big adjustments, but we've settled into a groove really quickly. Jenn and I were both surprised - perhaps we're more prepared for what's in store this time around. That being said, it's only been two weeks - who knows what'll happen!
Edie has been really good with Nuala. She likes to give hugs, tell stories, and try to teach Nuala about things like cookies and tv shows.
Here's a few pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Introducing Nuala Louise Devine!
Nuala Louise Devine came into the world Tuesday February 5th at 10.11 am - 7 pounds 9 oz., and just a bit over 20" long. She has red hair and is very cute!!
Jenn and Nuala are at home and healthy. Edie is very excited to be a big sister – she’s been very good with helping out – diaper changes, telling Nuala about the dogs, tv shows, milk, etc. and inviting her to the zoo!
I've attached a few pictures - we'll get more online soon.
Lots of love,
Jenn, Neil, Edie, and Nuala

Countdown 'til Christmas
1 week 'til Christmas Eve and I'm sure that everyone is scrambling, just like we are, to get their lists checked off!
This is the start of my 3rd week home full-time and it's been very helpful to have the extra time to complete the preparations. Not to mention how wonderful it is to be home with Edie to see her amazement at the sparkling lights and -ooooooo, can you believe?- A tree in the house! That's just craziness!
We started on our baking but had to stop until this weekend - not for any reason than we were eating it all. And Edie knows exactly where the "cocoos" are at. She would like them for breakfast, lunch and supper, thank you very much! :) Looks like she may have inherited a weakness for baked goods from her Mommy and Daddy - a double whammy at that.
We took her to see Santa over the weekend. She was a very brave little soul - no crying, just a pretty scared look and a quivering lip. She did so well when you consider all the kids around her were howling and screaming in terror. Really - why do we do this to our children? Because we had it done to us? I know the pics of Neil wailing on Santa's knee are pretty hilarious when we look at them now, but the poor little guy! O well - he's a very well adjusted adult, so I guess we needn't worry too much about it.
Overall things are good - our list seems to grow each time we go to cross something off of it. Lots of baby stuff still to get done in the next few weeks. But generally we will be ready when Christmas arrives next week...and even if we aren't, it'll come anyway! :)

Catch Up
Ok - we figured out the card so I'm doing this right away before another few weeks passes without uploading the pics!
We'll start with the Halloween Bunny and work backwards from there. :) This is Edie in my first sewing attempt since Grade 8 Home-Ec class! She was the sweetest little bunny EVER! Her trick-or-treating pal - cutie-skunk Will, aka Pepe, was a great companion for thier first real Halloween outing! After the first couple of houses they both got the hang of it, understanding the concept of dinging the doorbell and getting treats. However, Edie tried to take treats from her bag and put them into the bowls sometimes. Other times she asked for, or even just helped herself (gasp!) to more! Good thing she's little enough that it was still adorable!

Here are some pics from our summer trips and some outings that we've had in the past while...Edie's first ice cream cone, that she refused to let go even once she was full. She held onto it until it was a soggy mess! And then on the ferry back to the mainland from Victoria. Look at that face - YAY!

Way too long...

It's been way too long since we posted an update. I feel awful for not keeping up with the updates, and fearful that things will be forgotten. Important things that need to be remembered!
Edie is full-on talking now. She says many, many things including "What's this?" and now loves make everything go "night-night", including her sippy cups, the dogs, her dada, mama, toys, bunnies...Nothing it seems is immune from the "night-night" ritual in which she demands you lie on the floor (if you are a living thing) and covers you with the nearest available blanket. After this she sits close beside you and pats you while she says "night-night, shhhhhh, night-night" It's very cute, and sweet to see her taking care of all these objects in such a loving fashion.
Here are some pics, not the most recent ones b/c those are stuck on the picture card - it seems to be corrupted or something...we're investigating how to fix it. I do hope we can - they're the pics from hallowe'en and she was such an adorable little bunny, I want to make sure those pics get posted.
